A Mobile Command Center, designed and manufactured by LDV to interface audio and video with other vehicles in the county and state, was recently delivered to the Michigan State Police Department Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division. The communications features of this vehicle include nine flat-screen monitors capable of receiving satellite, closed-circuit video, dual external video and regular television broadcasts. The command section has a 16 Radio Interoperability System (RIOS) enabling inter-agency communications. The phone system consists of cellular and land line capability with a total of 11 interior and exterior extensions. An area of the command center expands the department's high-tech communication space, allowing officers an additional 3-foot by 12-foot area.
